Position Overview

We’re seeking experienced installation technicians capable of performing both standard and complex installations, including multi-component telematics systems, AI dash cameras, and custom sensor integrations. This role is ideal for a self-motivated, detail-oriented technician who thrives on problem-solving and takes pride in high-quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

Perform installations of:

  • Vehicle Gateways, Asset Trackers, and AI Dash Cams (Road Eazy, Samsara, Motive, Lytx)

  • Stop-arm and multi-camera systems for school transportation and heavy fleets

  • Custom wiring, relay, and diode integrations for advanced functionality

  • Diagnose electrical and communication issues with 12V/24V vehicle systems

  • Follow OEM and Via Tech installation standards and documentation

  • Maintain professionalism and attention to detail in customer-facing environments

  • Accurately document work performed and communicate completion reports

  • Travel nationwide and internationally as needed for project deployments

Qualifications

Required:

  • Proven experience installing telematics, dashcams, or fleet electronic systems

  • Strong understanding of basic electrical theory, relays, diodes, and 12V/24V diagnostics

  • Ability to read schematics and use multimeters effectively

  • Reliable tools, clean work habits, and commitment to craftsmanship

  • Valid driver’s license

  • General Liability Insurance as a contractor

Preferred:

  • Experience with forklifts, garbage trucks, yellow iron, or heavy equipment

  • Familiarity with CAN bus, J1939, or advanced relay logic systems

  • Prior work with brands such as Samsara, Pro-Vision, Motive, or Geotab

Compensation & Structure

  • Competitive daily and project-based pay depending on experience and scope

  • Hired as an Independent Contractor (1099) with opportunity for W2 conversion based on performance and quality
